Andy has more than two decades of experience in the Canadian consumer electronics and retail marketplace. His first entrepreneurial undertaking was a consumer electronics retail outlet, which he opened at the age of 20. In less than 10 years, Andy was co-owner of a chain of six stores, and then sold the operation to embark on the next phase of his career: wholesale sales. He founded Jonic International Inc., a sales and distribution company, which was the distributor of Bell ExpressVu Satellite equipment. After selling the contract back to Bell in 2004, Andy purchased and amalgamated three well established consumer electronics distribution companies to form Redmond Group of Companies. He sold the assets of this business in 2007.
Andy is a member of YPO (Young Presidents Organization) and also serves as Chief Executive Officer and President of Redmond Group of Companies Inc.
Jeff McCarthy – Head of Sales
Jeff has over 30 years of experience in sales, merchandising and marketing within the toy industry. Jeff has built companies throughout the USA, Canada and Europe. During his time as President of Toy Biz Inc. Jeff grew sales from $2mm US to $70 mm US. While Jeff was VP of Sega Canada, sales grew from $17mm to $180 mm and market-share from 5% to 65% over a 35 month period. Jeff oversaw the large merchandising campaign for the first and second Batman movies, has experience successfully managing overseas affiliates and Canadian subsidiaries. Jeff has a Bachelor in Marketing and Finance from Ryerson University.
Mike Svetkoff – VP
Mike has over 17 years of experience in corporate finance, private equity and accounting. Mike started his career as an Audit Manager with PWC. He was stationed in both Ottawa and the UK, with projects in Africa, Europe, North and South America. He then went on to become a Senior Partner with Newport Partners, directly involved in almost $1B worth of transactions across a variety of industries. Mike earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Carleton University and his CA from The Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Larry Ashton - Operations
Larry is President of L.R. Ashton & Associates Inc., a consulting firm servicing the consumer products market in Canada and USA for the past 12 years. Larry has over 20 years experience within the toy industry in operations and merchandising. He is the former Vice President Operations Charan Industries where he successfully managed and directed four subsidiary companies; Randim Marketing ( Party- time party products and Blisto stationery products),Ovation Gift & Greetings ( gifts ,paper,bows), Charan Toy, and Buxton Canada ( leather goods). From 1992 to 1997 he was Vice President Operations Sega Canada and was instrumental in their many successful ventures in the Canadian marketplace. Recent projects have included sales management and operational consulting at Super Electric Company Canada and MJF Media Inc. Larry is a college graduate with a degree in Marketing.
Tom McCarthy – Sales
Tom McCarthy assists at Jonic Distributiion in Sales, Marketing and the development of Educational Support. He acts to daily assist the Sales Team, coordinates JDNA Trade Show presence and travel to facilitate the needs of distributors and their accounts. With a successful career in gifted education completed, he has worked over the past 8 years coordinating Sales and Installation Teams for Express Serve Satellite Installation and Kidzpace Inc. Tom brings experience in international markets, handling key accounts and development of marketing and sales materials.
Bob Davies, X3
Bob has been a successful entrepreneur for more than 15 years, creating unique products sold throughout the world to major retailers such as Target, Walmart, CVS, Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaws and Boots UK. He has over 25 years of extensive experience in key sales, marketing and brand development positions within the OTC, health & nutrition, cosmetic & beauty industries.
Eric Van Praagh, Synergy
Eric has over 19 years of experience in sales and marketing, business development, management and operations in the healthcare sector. His experience includes product launches, international market development, pharmaceutical education, and clinical detailing. Eric is accredited with the Council of Continuing Pharmaceutical Education.
Stan Samole, VP
Stan is a six-time recipient of the Profit Magazine Award for Canada’s fastest growing companies, winner of the Consumers Digest Best Buy Award and The Source Innovation Award. He was the owner of Fidelity Electronics sold with sales of $40 million; partner of SJS Distribution sold with sales of $90 million, and EVP at Hip Interactive with sales of $400 million.
Stan served as Founding Chairman and Executive Director of the Canadian Entertainment Software Association who’s Board includes Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony.
